This song is great… everything about it. Drake’s flow is smooth and on cue like usual, the beat is soothing, and I really like how Jeezy is collaborated into this song.
Lyrics:
[Drake]
This is really one of my dumbest flows ever
I havn’t slept in days
And me and my latest girl agreed to go our seperate ways
So i’m single…
Thinking about what we had and missing you
But I aint santa, I got something for these bad b*tches too
I mean paprazzi on me trying not to get caught out
They always seem to catch me with the woman that I brought out
Baby don’t hold on too long cause that’s how them stories start (?)
(?) eat your muthaf*ckin heart out, its drizzy
Always gone but never hard to find
And since you can’t escape me do I ever cross your mind
Because all this sh*t is new to me, i’m learning to behave
And still spending every dollar they encourage me to save
But I’m good
I know that n*ggas would kill for this lifestyle
I’m looking forward to the memories of right now
Never forgettin from where I came
And no matter where I’m headed
I promise to stay the same
[Young Jeezy]
I’m just riding round the city with my hood on and my windows down
Ask your girl I’m the realest n*gga she been around
I pull up in something new and park it by the haters
And when you get to talking bout the greatest
[Chorus]
(I just really hope that)
You’ll think of me
(I just really hope that)
You’ll think of me
(I just really hope that)
You’ll think of me
(I’m doin my thing 3x)
I’m tryna be unforgettable…
[Young Jeezy]
This just might be my realest flow ever
When I say fo’ life yall say fo’ever
Its hard but it’s fair I told that girl life hurts
The closest your gon get to this is a Pac t-shirt
The names young baby you know I live that thug life
The good die young so I’m gon need a thug wife
Yeah, I’m talking his and her firearms
Know our jewelry probably louder than a car alarm
Yeah, I remember I used to have to sneak the car
Now my insides looking like a snickers bar
Yeah, I’m talking caramel leathers
Damn right, so fly in these feathers
(?) so whats the deali young done everything in the A but f*ck chillin
So welcome to my life no two days the same
Like for yall to meet the love of my life her names the game
[Young Jeezy]
I’m just riding round the city with my hood on and my windows down
Ask your girl I’m the realest n*gga she been around
I pull up in something new and park it by the haters
And when you get to talking bout the greatest
[Chorus]
(I just really hope that)
You’ll think of me
(I just really hope that)
You’ll think of me
(I just really hope that)
You’ll think of me
(I’m doin my thing 3x)
I’m tryna be unforgettable…
This song is flat out nasty. The bass on the beat is great, and I really like the semi-slow, deep voiced, style of Omar Cruz. Also, the chorus is hot on this song. This is a must have in any hip-hop enthusiast’s car.
I have been in Vegas for the last two days, and on the way there I started going through all the old cds in my car. Reason being is that I forgot to burn a roadtrip cd. After two hours on the road, this song came on. It is a classic, a tribute to the two greatest artists to live. I thought I should remind you guys about this song.
We all know the songs U Got it Bad, You Remind Me of a Girl and Burn, but there are some old school Usher songs some people just don’t remember. This is one of those under-rated songs. This song, in my eyes, is a good R&B song; I think its that weird instrument in the background that comes every so often that attracts me to this song.
Enjoy your Player Holiday. The guitar strings in the beat are sick and add a sense of tranquility to the song. I would love to have my own private beach, kick back on my chair and listen to this song.
Rockstar’s album World Tour debuted February 1st. Out off all the songs on the album, I believe this song deserved to be posted immediately before I do a mixtape review. The beat is absolutely amazing, especially the guitar strings. This is Rockstar’s first album, and this song is bound to hit the radios soon. Keep an eye out for him.
Not your typical rap song. The imagery used in this song is so intense that you can actually picture the story as Nas tells it. This is by no doubt one of my favorite songs because of his literary genius embedded in this song.
I thought I might connect to you guys on a deeper level, a side which I have not yet shown on this blog. Immortal Technique’s song “You Never Know” is a song that always sends chills down my spine. The message behind this song should be the credo to human life. However, that belief in life and love has vanished. We have grown to be this apathetic society that has forgotten the importance of an emotional connection. We have grown to be this selfish, materialistic, society to which non-Americans are disgusted by. This where Immortal Technique comes in and sheds light upon this topic, emphasizing the importance of a personal connection between someone, letting it blossom, and then cherishing it to its fullest extent. At the end, he shows that there is something more painful than the wound of a bullet.
Although the whole song is great. The lyrics that stick out the most to me are:
“Hold the person that you love closely if they’re next to you
The one you love, not the person that’ll simply have sex with you
Appreciate them to the fullest extent, and then beyond
Cause you never really know what you got, until it’s gone”
First off, I would like to apologize for not updating The Joint of the Day section for a while. Everything has been hectic with school starting up again. This blog will soon be undergoing a transformation if all goals and plans fall into place. Other than that, I will try to update The Joint of the Day on a daily basis.
Secondly, light that joint up and kick back to this song. Perfect song to be smoking to. I remember my friend telling me what song the beat is from, but I forgot. All I know is that it is a song from the early 80’s.
Ya Boy reminds me of The Game. He is utilizing his skills and excelling in both contemporary hip hop and gangster rap. I was introduced to Ya Boy from the song “We Run LA”. After hearing that, I began to browse the internet for other songs from this new hit wonder. I came across this song and this helped solidify Ya Boy as one of my favorite rappers alive. This song is off his debut album “Rookie of Year” which was released in 2005.
Eye2eye, real name Mike Chakrian, is an underground rapper. This song “Never Let You Go” is sick, beat and lyrics. Here is his facebook page if you want to follow:
Lyrics:
I would never let you go
I would never let you go
yeah I’m feelin’ this
I would never let you go
my heartbeat’s bumpin’ with the drumbeats
I would never let you
I would never let you
I put my heart on the line from the start of my prime
I speak without speakin’, nothin’ wrong like a mime
I’m ill by design, I’ll take your two pennies
turn them all into a dime, if you’re down in my mind
I’m everything you’re not, add a cherry on top
I’m smooth like a stone, goin’ hard like a rock, wait
it’s not a matter of me, though I gotcha
spttin’ this is takin’ my stress down with vodka
yeah you close your eyes and imagin’ me as a watcher
you’ve always been a testo, I’ve been a proctor
I don’t wanna have to sound deeper than I gotsta
but I do it just to hold you high like an opera
live your life square, call it kitchen floor tile
I hold the royal flush down, try not to smile
I didn’t want you caught up in the middle like an aisle
but I ain’t lettin’ go though, it’s just not my style
I would never let you go
I would never let you go
I would never let you go
I would never let you
I would never let you
yeah the world looks heavy when I counted the hate
but now I live five times, add a plate
don’t pretend me and you are at a similar state
in size, not the same thing as the gate
I’m lost now, no hope out to find me
stick my hand back, knowin’ nothing is behind me
yeah one-eighty plan went ninety
tried to make the best, but life don’t take kindly
yeah I feel the world tuggin’ tighter ‘round the waist
I’m just a man livin’ at a superhero pace
me and lady luck had nothin’ but bad dates
so now I fly straight, no capes
no matter to breathe, I rise up to cash
a latter when you’re with me, both arms attached
I’m gettin’ to the top, don’t dropkick the latch
just hold the fuck on, know I got your back
I would never let you go
I would never let you go
I would never let you go
I would never let you
I’m gettin’ a little romantic, fuck it
I would never let you
you got the strength to move mountains
Hawaiian punch fountains
year 2000 forever but who’s countin’
I want you here raw, I want you at your best
with your smile almost as appealing as your dress
I watch you turnin’ heads, breakin’ people’s necks too
‘cause that’s the only type of girl I stand next to
it’s either that or get dropped like X2
out with the others, you could take my ex too
I’m feelin’ brand new, the road is all open
can’t recall the last time I felt an emotion
say I swear, everything’s feelin’ perfect
fuck a song, this is my life in three verses
half a page in, but I knew the whole story
written at the end that I’m retiring at forty
bad bitch beside me, but she’s finally a shorty
how could I let go what’s right here before me
I would never let you go
I would never let you go
I would never let you go
I would never let you
I would never let you
This song is awesome. I always start my day listening to this song; dont know why. So after waking up today I thought I might share my morning ritual with you guys.
AZ has been a long time partner with Nas. That is where, or how, AZ has perfected his unique way of rhyming, multi-syllabic, that makes him so entertaining to listen too. This song is off his album “The Format” (2006).
This song came out during spring 09. It has this funky beat and chorus which I think is pretty sick. However, although the beat is unorthodox, they flow really well on it.
